Holiday Packages

Designed around how you actually travel

Some people want the 6am hike. Some want the terrace, the book and nowhere to be. A good itinerary is not the one with the most in it — it is the one built for the traveller holding it.

Overview

The itinerary is the product

A packaged holiday sold off a shelf has to suit everybody, which means it suits nobody in particular. Ours start from a conversation: who is travelling, what you want to come home having done, and — just as usefully — what you would rather avoid.

From that we build a day-by-day itinerary with the hotels named, the transfers timed, the entry tickets pre-booked and the free afternoons deliberately left free. You see the full cost before you commit, with inclusions and exclusions listed separately so nothing is ambiguous.

We have arranged travel across 96 destinations. Where we do not know a place intimately, we say so and work with a ground operator who does, rather than guessing on your behalf.

  • Day-by-day itinerary with named hotels and timed transfers
  • Inclusions and exclusions listed separately, in writing
  • Deliberate unscheduled time — not every hour is filled
  • One advisor from planning through to your return

Benefits

What you get that you would not get elsewhere

  • 01

    Built, not picked

Your itinerary is drafted for your group, then revised with you. Two or three rounds of changes are normal and are not charged for.

  • 02

    Hotels we can vouch for

Named properties with a specific room category, chosen for location and for the thing you actually care about — a pool, a view, quiet, or a short walk to dinner.

  • 03

    Transparent pricing

One price covering everything listed, with exclusions stated plainly. No resort fees or "local payments" appearing at check-in.

  • 04

    Tickets booked in advance

Timed-entry attractions, rail passes and popular restaurants reserved before you travel, so you are not queuing for what you flew to see.

  • 05

    Pace that suits the group

Travelling with a toddler and a grandparent is not the same trip as two friends with rucksacks. The schedule reflects that.

  • 06

    Support in your time zone

A named contact and a duty number that works while you are away, whatever the local hour.

What is included

Everything the holidays desk handles

Ask about your case
  • Honeymoons & anniversaries

Quiet properties, private transfers, and the small arrangements that make a difference, handled discreetly with the hotel.

  • Family holidays

Connecting rooms, child-appropriate pacing, and activities that genuinely work for the ages travelling.

  • Multi-country journeys

Europe by rail, South-East Asia by short hop, or a single long arc across several countries — sequenced so the travel days are not exhausting.

  • Adventure & active travel

Trekking, diving, safari and expedition travel arranged with operators whose safety record and licensing we have checked.

  • Luxury & private travel

Villas, private guides, chartered boats and chauffeured touring where the occasion calls for it.

  • Small group departures

Fixed departures for solo travellers and couples who want company without a coach tour.

  • Pilgrimage & cultural travel

Itineraries built around religious calendars, access requirements and appropriate local guidance.

  • Milestone & celebration travel

Significant birthdays, retirements and family reunions across multiple households and departure cities.

The process

Six steps, one advisor

Written out so you know exactly what happens next, and when.

  1. 01 30 minutes

    The conversation

Where you are drawn to, roughly when, who is coming and what your budget genuinely is. We would rather design well inside a real budget than beautifully outside it.

  2. 02 2–3 business days

    First draft itinerary

A day-by-day plan with named hotels, timings, and a full cost breakdown. Written to be read by everyone travelling, not just whoever is paying.

  3. 03 As long as it takes

    Revisions

You tell us what to change. Two or three rounds are normal and included. This is the stage where a good trip becomes the right trip.

  4. 04 On deposit

    Confirmation

A deposit secures every element at the quoted price. You receive confirmations for each booking, not just a summary.

  5. 05 10 days before

    Pre-departure pack

Final itinerary, vouchers, transfer details, local contacts, visa and health reminders, and practical notes on the places you are going.

  6. 06 Throughout

    While you are away

A named contact and a duty number. If a flight moves or the weather turns, we rearrange what follows so you do not have to.

They built the trip around my mother, not around a brochure

Travelling with a seven-year-old and my 74-year-old mother meant most itineraries I was sent were simply unrealistic. Urban Wings asked how far she could comfortably walk in a day and built from there — shorter days, lifts confirmed at every station, the rail passes already in our hands. It is the first family holiday where I was not managing everyone.

The unscheduled afternoons were the best part

Every other itinerary I was quoted filled every hour. Urban Wings deliberately left three afternoons completely empty and told me that was intentional. Those were the days we remember most. They also had the Amber Fort tickets timed so we walked past a queue of about two hundred people.

The number I approved was the number I paid

Every quote I got elsewhere had a "payable at resort" line that turned out to be around forty thousand rupees of green tax and service charges. Urban Wings put the whole landed cost in one figure and then listed separately what was genuinely not included. I checked out having paid exactly what I had budgeted.

Holiday Packages questions

Frequently asked questions

Specific to holiday packages. General questions are answered on the FAQ page.

Not covered here? Ask us directly — we answer within four business hours.

Do I have to take a fixed package, or can it be customised?

Everything we sell is customised. The sample itineraries on this site exist to show the standard we work to and to give you a starting point for pricing — but no two trips we have arranged have been identical. Tell us what you want changed and we will change it.

What is included in the price you quote?

Every quotation lists inclusions and exclusions as two separate lists, because that is the only way to make it unambiguous. Typically included: accommodation in the named room category, stated meals, all listed transfers, pre-booked entries and activities, and our planning fee. Typically excluded: international airfare unless quoted with it, visa and consular fees, travel insurance, personal spending, and anything described as optional. If it is not on the inclusions list, assume it is not included and ask us.

How far ahead should I plan a holiday?

For international travel in peak season — European summer, Christmas, Indian festival periods — four to six months gives real choice on hotels and better pricing. Three months is comfortable for most other times. We have put good trips together in three weeks when necessary, but the range of what is available narrows sharply inside a month, particularly for well-known properties.

What deposit do you take and when is the balance due?

A deposit of 25% of the package value confirms the booking, with the balance due 30 days before departure. Some properties and peak-season rates require a larger deposit or earlier settlement, and where that applies we tell you before you commit — it is written into your quotation, never introduced later.

Can you arrange travel for someone with reduced mobility or a medical condition?

Yes, and it is work we take seriously. We confirm step-free access, lift availability, bathroom configuration and transfer vehicle suitability directly with the properties rather than relying on a website claim. Tell us the specifics at the first conversation so the itinerary is built correctly from the start rather than adapted afterwards.

What if something goes wrong while we are travelling?

You have a named contact and a duty number that is answered outside office hours. If a flight is cancelled, a transfer fails to arrive or a hotel cannot honour a booking, call us and we deal with it — including rearranging the days that follow. That support is included in what you have already paid.

Do you arrange travel insurance?

We arrange it, and we strongly recommend it on every international trip. We are not an insurer — we place cover with licensed providers — so read the policy wording, particularly around pre-existing medical conditions, adventure activities and cancellation grounds. We will point you at the clauses that matter for your specific trip.
